and the Camel Cart came.....

to continue on our concept learning for transport it was the camel cart that followed the horse cart....amidst all the excitement and joy that it bought, the preschoolers had a lot of fun taking joyrides on the cart..

The teachers used the opportunity to teach them more about the -ship of the desert....Learning through play helps a child progress in several areas as physical growth, language development, comprehension development, and skills in interaction...
The preschoolers as an after activity spoke about their experience on the cart once back in class..some went on to draw what they had learnt.
I firmly believe that we have to teach children "how to learn", that is to explore, discover, and practise thinking skills, and process information so as to understand the world around them. This cannot be taught it has be learnt.

And the Horse Cart came to school....

This is a series of posts that i shall add here to share with you on how we taught our preschoolers the various modes of transport..

The theme at school was Transport..so to teach children all about how transport started we decided to bring in all the means that we could,to practically show them and teach ..so came the Horse Cart to school on the chilly morning of december!
The owner of the horse cart was kind enough to offer us a ride on the cart...and that lead to a series of rides ..everyone including the teachers wanted to experience it..
They learnt all about how to get the cart ready, what to feed the horse ,how to look after its needs(read feed), and last but not the least how it was , is, an important means of transport in our country till date.
